Mold Remediation
Mold Remediation Question and Answer
Q.
I have a few questions... I am a carpenter by profession and we have no leaking of the roof
causing this problem our problem is from high humidity in our attic. I am
wanting to install an attic fan to help lower the humidity in the attic and
help to curb the growth environment, do you think this is a good idea? Would
it be a good idea to install the fan during removal to help suck out any
airborne spores? I also have read in the mold book and your 25 steps to
cleaning and am confused, which is sometimes easy to do, exactly what to do.
Our mold problem looks like just soot, it isn't
fuzzy or even a built out growth. Do you clean it with the cleaner and
immediately wipe it off and bag your rag when it gets to dirty? What should
it look like when you have done a satisfactory job? I am curious because I
am going to be limited in helping my
wife clean cause I am allergic to penicillin and the molds grew penicillium
mold from which penicillin is derived.

Thanks for being a Mold Mart client. You are wise to install a strong
attic fan prior to mold remediation to do what you correctly want to
do---to help reduce attic humidity and to get rid of the airborne mold
spores thrown into the air during attic mold remediation Be sure to close
all windows and doors of your home, and seal the fresh air intake of your
heating/cooling system which should be off during the mold remediation
process so that you don't recycle into your living area the airborne mold
spores exhausted out of the attic. Be sure your family and any
helpers helping you wear proper protective gear during
mold
remediation. With your health situation, it would be best if you are NOT
in the attic doing any of the mold remediation.
